How the platform works

A network instead of a large-scale plant

Many bioprocesses work at pilot scale but lack a path to broad rollout. EAT BEER brings everyone a new bioprocess needs at the producer's site to one table and handles the engineering in between. When demand grows, another module is added.

Connect

Producers, process partners, technology, offtakers and investors come together in one region.

Modularize

Proven processes are translated into standardized container modules, ready to deploy directly at the producer's site.

Multiply

Once a module works, the same module goes to the next site. Capital follows proof.

Step 1 of 5

Find & Connect

Our value chain configurator links producers and offtakers in the region, with the shortest possible routes.

  • Analyze the side stream: volume, composition, possible products
  • Find offtakers: in the region, within a 50 km radius
  • Identify the bioprocess: the route from side stream to product
Step 2 of 5

One large-scale plant becomes modules

The process partner brings a proven process, the technology partner the equipment. We split the process at its individual steps and integrate each step into a standardized container module.

Step 3 of 5

The analysis determines the model

Before any investment is made, the techno-economic analysis (TEA) calculates the technology and economics for each site. Its result decides which operating model fits, and investors provide financing on that basis.

Step 4 of 5

The modules dock at the producer

The modules from step 2 are located directly on site. They use the producer's utilities and side stream, controlled by the EAT BEER Core and connected to the platform.

Step 5 of 5

Develop once, roll out many times

Prove first, then multiply: capital follows proof. Each site produces at the scale that suits its region, connected via the EAT BEER Platform.

Decentralized risk: many sites instead of one plant, no single point of failure. Each module is an asset in its own right.
